City of Sadness

A brief set to produce an visual response to one of the cities in the novel by Italo Calvino “Invisable Cities”, and I chose to illustrate the “Hidden City”.

The term “Hidden” doesn’t refer to the name of the city , but instead, it was about the nature of the city, that  “at every second the unhappy city contains a happy city unaware of its own existence”. And the idea of the pieces was about even though people are livining in this city of sadness, but they can still find their own happiness from within.
